Matching colors

I followed the HDR discussion and played with it myself, but this is not my thing.
Utter gave a tip over here about matching colors in photoshop.

The first pic is the original pic i made today in the woods, the second pic is a pic i grabbed from the internet and the third pic is the result of combining the two other pics.

That's a really nice effect, a bit like the light at dawn on a cloudy day...

I actually only have PS elements at the moment and don't have that feature, so it's cool to see the result!

What elements does have, though is a tool called "Enhance>Lighting>Shadows/Highlights" which makes for pretty good fake HDR's in my opinion...

i think the enhancements make the shot more vibrant. especially on the second set by utter. gives the dandelion more definition
